This is a Shaggy Dog story:

During the early days of Leather Head Sports, I had two young daughters.
For years, they begged and begged for a puppy.
To shut them up, I thought it would be funny to make them a hairy football instead.
Back then we called the ball Bruno.
Well, they didnt love Bruno, and the begging continued.
In moment of weakness, Icaved and got them a sweet Havanese puppy.
We named him Winston.
Winston became my best friend and the Leather Head shop dog.
The Bruno ball was renamed Winston in his honor.

The Winston ball is one of our most unusual, and remains amazingly popular.
